Check out this great example of insanely elegant HUD/UI interface GFX design in this montage created for the newly released blockbuster OBLIVION © (Universal Pictures, Inc. All Rights Reserved), created by GMUNK and his crack GFX team. GFX METHODOLOGY The briefing for the Graphic Language stressed functionality and minimalism while utilizing a bright, unified color palette that would appear equally well on both a dark or bright backdrop... The function was to reflect the modernized sensibilities of the TET Mainframe computer and would assist the characters with the key components of their duties on earth; be it the monitoring of all Vitals on the ground using Vika's Light Table, or the various diagnostics in the air using the Jack's Bubbleship... For good measure, the team also designed and animated all of the HUD UI for the various machines and weaponry in the film cuz they could, establishing a consistent graphic language that rendered all the interfaces with a loverly cohesion rarely seen in the massive-budget Sci-Fi productions... OBLIVION LIGHT TABLE UI One of the most widely seen Graphic elements was Vika's Light Table, which allowed her to guide Jack Harper through his tasks as a Drone repair man in the field of duty... The table itself was built practically, so most of the visuals were captured in-camera, lending a beautiful optical touch to the design ( thx Joe & Claudio )... The table consisted of four screens: A main map that Vika used to monitor the Bubbleship, Drone, and Scav positioning, a Drone Monitor which tracked all their key vitals and fuel status, A Hydro Rig monitor that displayed the collection progress for the large resource gatherers over the ocean, and finally a Weather Screen which showed the Tet's online status and also key vitals of the ever-changing weather systems... A couple extra tasks had the team designing another Map Diagnostic screen on a milky-white breakfast table top and a few key standalone windows that were analyzing Rogue Signal feeds that were key story points in the film... OBLIVION BUBBLESHIP UI Jack's helicopter, a remarkable Daniel Simon creation called the Bubbleship, was Jack's paramount vehicle in the film... The UI appeared as a hologram embedded within the spherical glass cockpit, done to perfection by the lovely folks at Pixomondo, and functioned to assist Jack in his flight and combat duties throughout the film... The team researched a grip of Flight simulator and Helicopter Combat interfaces and sought to modernize the aesthetic while still delivering key functionality that would mimic real-world flight tools... And of course the team didn't want to fuck up Simon's baby with ugly UI, the German wrath was implanted deep within and ultimately, the Bubbleship UI was by far the most researched and pampered graphic task... OBLIVION HUD GFX The team also designed all of the Machinery HUDs and various Gauges in the film, be it the Drone Machine Vision, Jack's Gun HUD, all the Scav equipment and some of Jack's smaller vehicles... The interfaces again stressed functionality over excess, keeping the Greeble under control and communicating key story points throughout the film.. All of these graphic elements were ingested by the VFX Vendors and ultimately integrated seamlessly into the live-action plates; many thanks mighty peoples... Check out the fantastic opening title sequence for the prestigious D&AD awards created by the outstanding talented artists over at The Mill!. With an open brief, the project was a fantastic way for the team to flex their creative muscles and develop something truly inspiring. For more information, please see the credits below. This year's idea is based on Factory Fifteen's initial concept of a 'Design Carousel' and Planning Unit's idea for this year's show. The Mill+ designers and animators set out to develop machines that represent the creative vastness, inspiration and process of design development. Every machine in the sequence unveils a piece of information to the user, whilst revealing their working and also being beautiful to look at. The piece is simple, yet also hypnotic with the images enhanced by intrinsic sound effects from Angell Sounds. Director Nils Kloth comments, "Every year the D&AD titles are a fantastic opportunity for us to come up with a custom brief for an idea and style that we really want to create. The guys at D&AD are greatly supportive and it's a real pleasure to be working with them. They trust us and we have all the freedom to create something amazing. We opted to complete the whole sequence in 3D, enabling us to have full control over the workflow and creation of each machine. We built and animated everything in Cinema 4D, utilising physics simulation and manual animation methods to achieve the working of all these machines. To achieve the best and most realistic look we decided to use vRay for all lighting and texturing. It took days and weeks to render everything but it was worth it!" http://www.themillblog.com/ Website - http://www.themill.com/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/MillChannel LIKE THEM NOW!! :) Twitter - https://twitter.com/millchannel Youtube - http://www.youtube.com/millchannel SUBSCRIBE - to TheCGBros for more inspiring content! http://www.youtube.com/user/thecgbro?sub_confirmation=1

We are proud to present this video which showcases some of ILM's Oscar nominated effects work for the 2012 hit film, "Marvel's The Avengers". This reel represents a small fraction of the work created by over 200 ILM artists, scientists, and engineers backed up by a world class production team. The stop motion animations which open and close the reel were done the old fashioned way - by hand, one frame at a time. They were crafted by ILM's stop motion guru, Erik Dillinger specifically for this reel. -Enjoy!

Check out this amazing CGI VXF breakdown by the talented Ash Thorp! Ash was the Lead Motion Graphics designer, under the wing of : Production Designers Ben Procter and Sean Haworth, visual effects director Matthew Butler, and director Gavin Hood. Twitter -https://twitter.com/Ashthorp Website - http://www.ashthorp.com/ Starting in late 2011, I received the opportunity to join the creative team for Ender's Game and continued off and on the project for about a year and a half in total. My main objective was to visualize the interface technology and then creatively design them into each unique scene of the film; this process involved everything from the more simple design of door latch actuators to the more massively complex setting of battle simulations. It was a very rewarding and challenging project and the biggest in my career at that time, since I was able to be involved in so many stages from pre-production meetings to the final modifications and edits of the film. From my early talks with Ben, Sean, Matthew, and Gavin, and then seeing my rough sketches manifest themselves onto the film screen was all an amazing experience. The images below vary greatly in time and design scale: some are unused concepts that didn't make the final edit, some are style frames created to pitch ideas of the story, and others are actual moments or frames that got incorporated into the released film. All in all, I generated about 650+ Photoshop files and many pages of scribbles and notes, so this is only a glimpse into my journey on this incredible project. Besides the wonderful experience and lessons learned from my involvement on this film, I met some amazing collaborators whom I am now so fortunate to call my friends. I would like to personally thank Ben Procter, Sean Haworth, Matthew Butler, G Creative, and Gavin Hood who took a risk on a young, passionate, newly established artist. Ender's Game was the first feature film to help launch the beginning of my freelance design career, and I'm thankful for this blessing that helped open the door to many more feature film projects and creative opportunities since it started back in 2011. All the Computer Graphics from the Movie Tron. In full length and chronological order. This time it's CGI! (The exception proves the rule. : ) This Version contains NO music from Wendy Carlos! (Diese Version enthält KEINE Musik von Wendy Carlos!) Sad not to hear the wonderful and unique soundtrack of W.Carlos but she, or maybe more the Record Company was not amused by my first Tribute - and it got deleted. So i try a Carlos-Music-Free version of the Tron CGI Shots Tribute this time. All Music is from ISAO TOMITA! Tried to keep the Spirit as far as possible... and Isao Tomita fits perfectly, in my humble opinion. The Scenes from 7:21 to 7:42 are NO CGI - they part CGI Stills - part handdrawn - part photographic Effects. But to late to cut them out now! Thanks for this hint vicentox1999! ;) Quote Wiki: "To create the computer animation sequences of Tron, Disney turned to the four leading computer graphics firms of the day: Information International Inc. of Culver City, California, who owned the Super Foonly F-1 (the fastest PDP-10 ever made and the only one of its kind); MAGI of Elmsford, New York; Robert Abel and Associates of California; and Digital Effects of New York City. Bill Kovacs worked on this movie while working for Robert Abel before going on to found Wavefront Technologies. More than 500 people were involved in the post-production work, including 200 inker and hand-painters in Taiwan. Tron has a distinctive visual style, as it was one of the first films from a major studio to use computer graphics extensively. Three designers were brought in to create the look of the computer world. Renowned French comic book artist Jean Giraud (aka Moebius) was the main set and costume designer for the movie. Most of the vehicle designs (including Sark's aircraft carrier, the light cycles, the tank and the solar sailer) were created by industrial designer Syd Mead, of Blade Runner fame. Peter Lloyd, a high-tech commercial artist, designed the environments. However, these jobs often overlapped with Giraud working on the solar sailer and Mead designing terrain, sets and the film's logo. The original Program character design was inspired by the main Lisberger Studios logo, a glowing body builder hurling two discs.

A fantastic example of Motion Graphics created for Activision / Treyarch's COD Black Ops II, by the talented team at Spov Design + Moving Image! Spov began working with Activision and Treyarch almost 18 months ago, conducting initial design research and producing early concept art and animation tests. Current commercial and military technology prototypes were used for inspiration to develop screen graphics depicting how the world might be viewed in 2025. From this emerging technology, Spov created a technical vision through which the global narrative could unfold as the player tries to make sense of tangled events and prevent an emerging catastrophe, put in motion by the games calculating villain, Raul Menendez. Spov Design + Moving Image is a Creative, visual and concept development for the entertainment industry. More information can be found on their website: Website - http://www.spov.tv

http://www.maris-interiors.co.uk/video-gallery/#/showreel Office design video showreel demonstrating Maris' in-house capability to produce CGI (Computer Generated Images). Maris Interiors LLP is the UK's leading specialist in workplace consultancy, office design, office refurbishment and office fit-out. Maris' office designers create world class working environments for occupiers throughout the UK and continental Europe. The team of experts at Maris has extensive and in-depth knowledge of how good office design and fit-out can substantially improve business performance, save vast amounts of money and help retain and attract key people. Successful office design strategies are identified through a process that directly and indirectly links that strategy to the core resources of the business: strategy, structure, processes, people and reward systems. In this way, you can devise an office design strategy with your office designer that will truly enable the business to not just "house" employees in a cost effective manner, but contribute to the business success as a whole. Fundamentally your office designer should advise that working areas should be designed to meet the demands of the job. Good office design should be dynamic and allow the organisation to operate at peak performance levels and be financially lean. However, to make it happen the organisation must have a highly motivated team of leaders that understand the relationship between the excellent office design and increased productivity. There are numerous benefits that a company should expect from a well-designed office environment. Good office design can elevate morale and improve productivity, promote the image and help reinforce a corporate identity. Good office design can help to attract and retain a higher quality workforce. There is no single solution to office design and there's no perfect office model. The design of your office needs to be customised to suit your business and your people by an experienced office design professional.
